Robinair 16916 genuine OE oxygen sensor — AC1234-4 & AC1234-9

The genuine Robinair factory OE oxygen sensor (part #16916) for Robinair R-1234yf recovery, recycling, and recharging machines. It's the sensor behind your machine's refrigerant identifier — the part that tells pure R-1234yf from contaminated gas. What it does

The brain behind refrigerant identification

Robinair's R-1234yf machines run a mandatory refrigerant-identification check before recovery. The oxygen sensor is what makes that check possible — and because it's an electrochemical component, it naturally depletes with use.

When the sensor reaches the end of its life, the machine's software initiates a lockout to prevent inaccurate readings, and the display shows an “O2 Sensor Expired” or “O2 Sensor Warning” message. Installing a fresh sensor immediately restores full functionality so the station can identify refrigerant and recover again.

Questions & answers

O₂ sensor FAQ

What is the Robinair 16916 sensor?
It's the genuine Robinair factory OE oxygen sensor for the refrigerant identifier in Robinair R-1234yf recovery/recycling machines. It lets the machine verify refrigerant purity before recovery.
Is there a cheaper alternative?
Yes — our Made-in-USA aftermarket O₂ sensor is an exact fit for the same AC1234-4 and AC1234-9 machines at a much lower cost. See the link above.
Which machines does it fit?
Robinair AC1234-4, AC1234-4SL, AC1234-4-230, AC1234-6, and AC1234-9, plus the 16990/16995 refrigerant identifier. Confirm your model before ordering.
Why did my machine lock out?
Oxygen sensors are electrochemical and deplete over time. When the sensor expires, the machine locks out and shows an “O2 Sensor Expired” message to prevent inaccurate readings. A fresh sensor restores it.
How hard is it to replace?
It's designed for a quick, low-tool swap to minimize downtime. Follow your machine's service procedure.
