Description
Toyota A/C clamp disconnect tool
The right tool for releasing the plastic clamp-style quick-connect A/C couplings on most 1998-and-newer Toyota vehicles. Rotate the clamp to expose the release holes, insert the tool, and separate the high- or low-pressure line — even the tight connections at the evaporator — without cracking the clamp or damaging the line. Works on both the newer larger clamps and the older smaller ones.
Two ways to service Toyota A/C lines. This is the all-aluminum, rotate-to-release tool covering most 1998-and-newer Toyota. Prefer a heavier-duty two-piece set (plastic body with a hinged metal clip) for 2000-and-newer? See the Toyota A/C disconnect tool set (242-958).
Don't fight a Toyota clamp coupling
Toyota A/C lines use a plastic clamp-style quick-connect that locks the line in place. Force it with a screwdriver and you'll usually snap the clamp, chew up the O-ring seat, or bend the line — turning a two-minute disconnect into a new-line job.
Made for Toyota clamps
Sized for the clamp-style quick-connect couplings Toyota (and Lexus/Scion) use — not a generic guess.
Large & small clamps
Handles both the newer larger clamps and the older smaller ones, so it covers the full run of applications.
High & low side
Releases the quick-connect fittings on both the high- and low-pressure A/C lines.
Reaches the evaporator
Gets into the tight lines at the evaporator/firewall where these clamps are hardest to release by hand.
No broken fittings
Releases the clamp the way it's designed to release, so the coupling and line survive to reconnect.
Durable & reusable
Built from durable aluminum for one clean disconnect after another.
Release the clamp in four steps
Recover first
Recover the A/C refrigerant before opening any line — never disconnect a charged system.
Rotate the clamp
Turn the plastic clamp to expose the two release holes on the coupling.
Insert & release
Insert the tool into the release holes to free the clamp, then pull the two coupling halves straight apart.
Reseal on reassembly
Fit a fresh O-ring, reconnect until it seats, then evacuate and recharge.
Toyota A/C line service
Commonly used on the clamp-style A/C line quick-connects of most 1998-and-newer Toyota vehicles (and related Lexus / Scion). Confirm it matches the coupling on your vehicle before ordering.
