Description
Toyota A/C disconnect tool set — 2-piece
A two-piece A/C line disconnect tool set for releasing the spring-lock quick-connect couplings on 2000-and-newer Toyota vehicles. The set includes two tools for the two coupling sizes, each with a rugged plastic body and a hinged metal clip that engages and releases the coupling — so you can separate the high- and low-pressure A/C lines cleanly, without cracking the fitting or bending the line.
Two ways to service Toyota A/C lines. This two-piece set has a plastic body with a hinged metal clip and covers 2000-and-newer Toyota. Prefer an all-aluminum, rotate-to-release tool that also covers 1998–99? See the Toyota A/C clamp disconnect tool (242-959).
Don't pry a Toyota A/C coupling apart
Toyota A/C lines use a spring-lock quick-connect coupling. Force it with a screwdriver and you'll usually crack the fitting, gouge the O-ring seat, or bend the line — turning a simple disconnect into a new-line job.
Two coupling sizes
Two tools cover the different Toyota coupling sizes, so you've got the right one for the line you're on.
Hinged metal clip
A rugged plastic body with a hinged metal clip engages and releases the spring-lock the way it's designed to.
High & low side
Releases the quick-connect fittings on both the high- and low-pressure A/C lines.
Reaches the evaporator
Gets into the tight lines at the evaporator/firewall where these couplings are hardest to release by hand.
No broken fittings
Releases the coupling cleanly so the fitting and line survive to reconnect.
Built to last
Heavy-duty construction for repeatable shop use, one disconnect after another.
Release the coupling in four steps
Recover first
Recover the A/C refrigerant before opening any line — never disconnect a charged system.
Pick the size
Choose the tool that matches the coupling size on the line you're servicing.
Engage & release
Fit the tool to the coupling and engage the hinged clip to release the spring-lock, then pull the halves apart.
Reseal on reassembly
Fit a fresh O-ring, reconnect until it seats, then evacuate and recharge.
