A heavy-duty universal-fit thermal expansion valve (TXV) for R-134a systems. 3/8″ × 1/2″ connections, a 15″ sensing bulb capillary, and a 12″ external equalizer with a 1/4″ female flare fitting — rated to 4 tons for larger systems.

The valve that controls your cooling
The expansion valve is the metering device between the high-pressure liquid line and the evaporator. It drops the refrigerant’s pressure and controls exactly how much enters the evaporator — the key to efficient, consistent cold air.
The sensing element reads the temperature of the refrigerant leaving the evaporator and feeds it back to the valve, so the valve fine-tunes flow to keep the evaporator fully fed without flooding. A worn or clogged valve shows up as weak cooling, frosting, or air that can’t hold temperature.
