A complete A6 compressor assembly for the 1978–1986 Chevrolet K10 — the big, proven GM axial-6 that these trucks came with from the factory. Comes with the high-pressure switch. A direct replacement for UAC CO 2224C and AC Delco 15-21684.
The original GM heavy hitter
The A6 is GM’s large-displacement, axial six-cylinder compressor — the unit fitted to a huge range of GM cars and trucks through the 1960s, ’70s, and into the ’80s.
It’s known for strong output and long service life, which is why so many owners keep the A6 rather than convert to a smaller compressor. This assembly comes with the high-pressure switch, ready to bolt back into your K10’s original bracketry.

Renew these while the system’s open
Any time you replace a compressor, renew the wear parts and set the oil — it protects your new compressor:

Always replace the drier with the compressor so moisture and debris don’t reach the new unit.

A new compressor fails fast if the system isn’t flushed and the oil isn’t set. Do it in order:
Recover & flush
Recover the charge, then flush the system to clear debris from any prior compressor failure.
Replace wear parts
Fit a new drier and metering device, and new O-rings at every connection you open.
Set the oil
Measure and set the correct oil charge for the system before install.
Evacuate & recharge
Pull a deep vacuum, then charge to the correct specification for your system.
